Yea, I think you can replace Ball Spinner with Match and get similar results!

Brick, it depends on how you apply it. If you use it as a scouring compound, it's similar to Valentino Resurrection and NeoTac Liquid Sandpaper. It will clean your ball, but also alter the surface. For non polished matte finishes under 1000 grit, it's a decent method for deeper cleaning and maintaining the cover.

If you just want to use Scuff for absorbing oil, it shouldn't alter the cover if you're careful. You simply spread (without rubbing) a coat on half the ball, and let it sit for roughly an hour. The compound dries to a powder, and you then gently wipe it off. Repeat the process for the other half of the ball. I've used Scuff for absorbing oil on highly polished equipment, and no apparent change to the cover.

Motiv Scuff .... Does it dull the ball or change the surface of ball?

I agree... and it's so simple and easy and SAFE to use....I put it on and let it soak in for about
two hours...Really draws out the oil...

Have you tried the Tacup...This is by far our BEST SELLING spray cleaner...
Comes in a 8 oz. bottle....

Really deep cleans the ball and leaves it TACKY...

And it SMELLS GREAT...

You don't need a GAS MASK like when using Legends...oops...lol

jls, Motiv Scuff is the best find I've run across in a while. That stuff sucks oil from the cover better than any product I've personally used. I haven't needed to use the Rejuvinator or hot water baths since using Scuff as a deeper oil extraction method.

I haven't tried Tacup yet. Coincidently, a friend just picked up a bottle at a proshop outside our house. He showed it to me the other night right after I'd already cleaned and packed everything up. I'm going to borrow his bottle and try it out next week.

If it works as well as Hook-It without the awful fumes and smell, I might switch.

I recently bought and tried the Tac Up. I ran tests twice comparing Tac UP, Remedy RX, and Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator and found the Remedy RX and Tac Up pretty much even up in cleaning the ball immediately after bowling with the Rejuvenator a bit better than the Tac Up and Remedy RX. I made the following post on my testing of the 3 cleaners in the Coverstock Forum back around the middle of February. Here is what I found...

*******************************************************************************

Update on testing the ball cleaners of Valentino's Remedy RX, Tac Up, and Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator....

First test ... Used Tac Up first and followed behind it with Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator

Results ..... Got more dirt and oil (not a lot but some) off ball with the Rejuvenator

Second test ... Used Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator first and followed behind it with Tac Up

Results ......... White towel stayed clean when followed up withTac Up, so the Rejuvenator removed all dirt and oil on first cleaning.

Third test ........Used Remedy RX first and followed behind it with Tac Up

Results ...........Got a wee bit more dirt/oil off ball when followed behind it with Tac Up, but ever so slight though

Fourth test ......Used Tac Up first and followed up with Remedy RX

Results ...........Got a very-very minimal amount of dirt/oil off ball when followed behind it with Remedy RX, but as in test #3, it was ever so slight

Summary ..... The Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator cleaned the balls the first time, so it is better than Remedy RX and Tac Up.

Remedy RX and Tac Up are basically even in their cleaning abilities, but a bit below Rejuvenator

I am going to run the tests one more time and if any change, I will post it. If no change, I will not post further.

However due to my wife having major surgery next Monday and will be hospitalized for a week - 10 days and then needing care at home, I will not be bowling after this Friday for a while, so it could be a while before I do any more testing.

If you call USBC about the use of Simple Green and rubbing alcohol mixed together it's not allowed at anytime. I called them and asked about it. What they told me was they were tested one at a time not together. Even know there both on the approved anytime list they have never been tested together. So that makes it illegal at anytime. Just my two cents.

It still shouldn't be a problem... because then you couldn't mix any of the approved cleaners together...  But one could get around that by 1st using simple green & water, then follow it up with the rubbing alcohol... Most put the rubbing alcohol in as a means to having the ball dry quicker anyway...

I read an article some time ago where Mo Pinel answered that question. He said "Whatever manufacturer of the ball. you get the best results using that ball manufacturers cleaners." When he was asked of his choice for MoRich balls, he said "Clean and Dull" is what he recomended. This was some time ago 2005 or so.Im sure not one single cleaner is good for every type of ball.
