What solid and pearl out of all of these?
« on: January 19, 2010, 02:05:12 PM »
With all of the new balls coming out at the moment just wanted to see what 2 balls you all like or might recommend the most between the following?

In solids I am considering the Bounty Hunter, the Break Out, Jigsaw, Jigsaw Corner, the Virtual Gravity, and Full Swing, or Siege.

In pearls i am considering the Columbia Pure Swing, the Global Bounty Hunter Pearl, the Motiv QZ1, the Evil Siege, and Possibly the Storm Virtual Energy.

Want 2 balls for medium to heavier mediums with pretty clean backends.  I throw about 17-18 mph with medium revs.

You don't have it listed, but you should consider the Raw Hammer Jacked.  I have about the same speed as you, and that ball is so clean on the medium-heavy house shot if that is what you'll be bowling on.  I had the Full Swing, and that ball flat out sucked.  It just flared out.  I tried it at like four different coverstock combinations also.  Nothing worked.  If you go to bowlingball.com, check out the reviews for the Jacked, and view the customer video to see my video rolling it.  I've thrown the Jigsaw Corner, Black Widow Nasty, and Black Widow Sting through demo programs.  The Corner has a sharper breakpoint, but is more unpredictable than the Jacked.  The two Widow's tended to be more sensitive to release changes, but hooked about the same as the Jacked.  I just find the Jacked to be such a forgiving reaction with power.  Good Luck.

For solids, I've seen alot of people throw the Virtual Gravity and Jigsaw very well on the med/heavy pattern.

For pearls I would look at the Pure Swing or actually wait until the Mission comes out in two weeks because it looks like a true winner. I have the QZ1 red and it's more for the lighter patterns or once the lanes starts to dry out. The QZ1 purple has alittle more surface at 2000 without the polish but you might get alittle under/over reaction for the med/heavy oil.

I don't know about the solid because I have the VG and hate it, but the Virtual Energy is an excellent ball.  It is super versatile and can be used on most comditions from all angles.
