What would you do
« on: November 29, 2007, 12:53:54 PM »
If you bowled on wood lanes, with a well defiend track area and pba patterns were used during your tournamnet, and the backends were flying.I'v went to this a few weeks in a row now and every thing hooks so much no matter what ball it threw. I tried moving left to right front to back and had very little sucess.

I had this crazy idea. To use a old rubber ball and point it in off the gutter at the 1-3.... I know this sounds odd but if i bet there is enough lane surface for this to work. Any sugestions ???

Find the oil and use a pin down ball.

I think that's the problem. Both of those balls are pretty strong.

Are those the only 2 balls you have?? Regardless, you still need to put the ball in the oil. Then use something that you can control the backend with.

What pattern were you bowling on??

sounds like an imitation of the cheetah pattern to me, possibly the chameleon because its very dry in the center with an out of bounds area if you get to close to the gutter.

You could be getting the ball out to the 3 board too early on the Cheetah. You have to make sure you get it down lane or it will overreact especially on wood lanes with a high friction area on the outside.

To quote Robert Smith last week, "the ball can't hook in the air."

Loft.  And playing the lane where it has at least a little oil.
