« on: November 16, 2009, 03:07:00 PM »
The AMF World Cup is in progress.  Format 3 block of 8 games each.  Cut top 24.  8 more games and cut to top 8.  Another 8 games and cut to top 3 for best 2 of 3 stepladder.

For men after 13 games, leader from Korea ave 230. Cut for 8th 218 avg.  Cut for 24th 206 avg. Notables:  Paeng 19th 207 avg  Walter Ray 25th 206 avg. Walter Ray started really slow.  After first block approximately 35th place.  In the men''s division, it looks like the people that hook the ball are doing better.

For women after 8 games, leader from England avg 225.  Cut for 8th 207 avg.  Cut for 24th 194. Notables  Tennelle Milligan 15th 200 avg.

It looked like Walther Ray William was not going to make the first cut, but he made a big jump in the third block.  Moved from 34th to 7th with a 230+ avg for the block.  With 8 more games to make the top 3 and the stepladder, he needs makeup 127 pins. (correction: needs to stay in the top 8 for the next 8 games to make the next cut)

Tennelle Milligan move up enough to make the top 8.  Now, she need to make up another 96 pins to make the top 3.  (correction: needs to stay in the top 8 for the next 8 games to make the next cut)

Update after 24 games:

Men: Leader from Korea ave 235. Cut for 3rd 220 avg. Cut for 8th 214 avg. Cut for 24th 206 avg. Notables: Walter Ray 7th 214 avg Paeng 25th 206 avg .

Women: Leader from England avg 219. Cut for 3rd 217 avg. Cut for 8th 211 avg. Cut for 24th 197. Notables Tennelle Milligan 5th 213 avg.

Man, WRW went on a tear after he struggled.  He truly is one of the best, if not the best, to be able to gain so many pins back.

A great effort, and congrats to the winner!  It's nice to see some international competition.  I look forward to seeing more of this.

And thank you for this post Wilbet - wonderful updates!
