Has anyone read the Pro File in the July 2010 BJI.A fact that is interesting that I did not know.
They ask Johnny about the LT-48 .What did LT-48 stand for? Johnny answers with.
Louie Trier was the chemist who came up with the formula for the ball that Brunswick made.He
was 48 years old at the time.

That ball was a beast back in the day. Soft as a babys butt!

Well if that's the case, then no doubt the C-System balls stand for Carmen Salvino.
After all, he's one of the chemists on Brunswicks' staff.
P.S. I still have a Johnny Petraglia LT-48 Gold. And it is gold! Still as strong as it ever was!

The LT 48 was the first true particle ball.
It has crushed walnut shells infused into the rubber and would hook on ice back in the day. Orginally meant to be a "lower" entry level ball, the pros quickly relized what a gem they had in this ball.
IMHO, it's what set off the war between the ball and oil volumes.
The LT48 gold (both solid and pearl) are reactive resin balls
( I have both, NIB
)

Yes. it's I, the Inverted One..

Although I'm not old enough to have thrown the LT-48 of yesteryear I owned several Johnny Petraglia LT-48 Gold's in the late 1990's and early 2000's and I thought it was a great ball-----very underrated and overlooked.

I had the original LT-48 in college. I also had the Tommy Hudson LT-51!
The LT-48 was definitely the hook monster of it's day. I also had a bleeder yellow dot - but the LT-48 was stronger!

It wasn't the crushed walnut shells that allowed to 'hook'....
Example first 5 years as opposed to the second 5 years of the ball...

Ric, may we please hear some more info on this great ball from the past ?
-
Uh oh.. Ric, you've got my curiosity now

Maybe a weightblock in the cork that nobody knew about? :O
-
I heard the early ones had the crushed shells in them, and the latter ones had ground up cherry stems instead.
