Joining the bandwagon
« on: May 19, 2005, 05:30:23 PM »
So, I forgot that you can host files up to 1 gig on http://www.yousendit.com for free, so I zipped my bowling videos (22 in all) and uploaded it.  It's a 20 mb download, so just a warning.  The different videos shows all the different adjustments I have made over the last few months.  Enjoy, here's the link:

The only bad thing is that yoursendit.com only hosts it until it is download 25 times or a week goes by... whichever comes first.

I noticed in a few of those videos you toned down your backswing and stroked it more. Then you went back with a little bit higher backswing.  I see nothing wrong with your backswing all together.  Your balance is where I would concentrate my focus.

If you have your foot turned slightly in, your shoulders are pointed in the same direction as your foot. This is generally away from your target, and can cause you to dump the ball out.  From watching you, I noticed on your shots in which you moved right, and tended to play a straighter line and did that.. You came in light because the ball did not recover. That could very well have been the reason (Feb01_8).

Not many people have the advantage of your ball speed and revs.  Getting your shoulders square, and staying on balance at the line could could greatly increase your accuracy.  Combine that with your strength and BAM!!!  Hope my post wasn't too lengthy, and that you can gather some intel from what I posted.  Good Luck and Great Bowling.  Are you going to JOG this year?

Thanks for the awesome post.

The reasoning for the adjustments in the backswing is because I knew that when I bowl on sport shots, I won't always be able to keep the high backswing, and I certainly know I won't be able to keep the high speed.  To help solve this problem, I adjusted my game to have a lower backswing in reserve.

Some things about the videos that I forgot to mention are as followed:

1) The December 23rd videos are from the first night I had my Morich Weapon of Mass Bias, and I had my dad take videos, because the amount of backend and hitting power it had was absolutely incredible.  As you can see from the videos, the speed is up and I swung it a lot and it was just coming back incredibly well.  Heck, in the Dec 23_2 video, you can see that it comes back so hard I leave a 9-10.

2) The March 13th videos are on a sport shot the college bowlers bowled on when they came through St. Louis at Strike N Spare.  The best shot I found early was to fire the ball right at the hole with my inferno.  At the middle of the second game, the ball was just not coming back at all.  I wound up moving in to where I threw on the 9th video of that day.

I am going to JOG this year.  My first year bowling it, and I'm pretty exited about it.

Thanks for the comments.
