Title: Just Curious!!
Post by: Shooter838 on February 21, 2013, 07:48:58 AM
Ebonite fans, would anyone like to see the stinger core brought back in the line up. Maybe wrap it with the GB 10.7?? What do you think? Getting tired of all high end balls with tons of overlap.

Which core are you calling the Stinger core?

This -

or

The later also had a low flare version...

low flare version, like the ones in the 2pc particle and pearl balls. Also the ice and black ice. Some great low end control balls that are missing from Ebonites line.

Unfortunately "control" balls don't seem to sell that well... majority of the market wants to stand left, throw right, and see the ball get kicked towards the pins by an invisible giant.

That's likely the reason why the Pearl IQ Tour is selling better than the IQ Tour.

I'd love it, I still use an ancient 2-piece Stinger for a medium ball...and it's the most predictable and forgiving ball I've ever rolled. It's durable as heck too, the one I have is at least 15 years old and has been bowled with every week of those 15 years and is still holding up.

Going to start using that phrase it at the lanes. Thanks. :)

I use it all the time... That's how I described the motion of my Morich Archon (overseas Ravage, essentially) that I laid out with a 20°x4.5"x20° layout.

To keep this somewhat on topic... I  wonder If Ebonite has started to make money on the Cyclone yet? Pretty sure they had to raise the price on them to make money at all...

Which one the pearl or particle. I have the particle and it works well for medium to light oil shots. Very versitle piece, Ihave played up the lane with it or have gotten as deep as the 5th arrow with it. Go figure right! :D

Crazy thought, what if the PBA put out medium to light oil shots so that the guys would have to use the lower end equipment. Remember when Mika shot 300 with the stinger particle; I bet that generated some sales.
