Osku
Belmonte

Justin Stevens.

who was first?   Does anyone know anything about him?  His 2 handed style seems slightly different from the other two as Osku and Belmonte also have slightly differently styles.  Belmonte bends his elbow more on the back swing and the other two seem to sling it a bit more.

There was a post about Belmonte being a poster child for the PBA.   The 2nd link Justin has a bottle of water in his pants and then pulls it out.  A little terrel owens attitude.  How would that go over on tour if someone did that?

The Justin Stevens guy seems to have mixed 2 handed bowling with the Japanese spinner style also, he seems to do both.

I bowl 2 handed and I have a style similar to Cassidy as I put my thumb in the ball and have a longer approach like he does, but not quite as smooth, I have 2 quick steps in my approach, as I like to throw the ball harder, just have more rotation and tilt than Cassidy does, well when I put the top hand off to the side I do, but that can all be changed to throw with less like he does. He has the same problem I do, that he doesnt feel right when he takes his thumb out of the ball, loses his consistency.

Although I don't know Justin personally, I have bowled the Hawaii TV tourneys.  I remember him bowling conventional most of the time but I have seen him use 2 hands on occasion.  I've only been off the island since Aug 2008 so I guess he's become much better at using 2 hands.  He's got long arms so his style he can keep his arms extended.

As for the water bottle, the Hawaii TV tourneys are about fun as much as they are about the competition.  There's a pretty relaxed atmosphere at the tourneys.  He probably did that for a sponsor or he may be peddling the Perfect Water himself.  LOL

I'm sure that wouldn't go over very well on a TV match since it's advertisement driven.

Hi everyone, just thought I'd chime in on the forum about me. Someone had told me that this was posted up regarding who I am so here goes. I've been bowling competitively for over 20 years now. I self taught myself how to bowl two handed due to a friend of mine being able to rev the ball and with me having not such a dramatic hook on the lanes so I decided to try it. Been messing with it since going on about 15 years now but just as of the past 3 years seriously decided to compete with it and make it my primary delivery. Since making that decision, I've increased my average 25 pins to a state high 237, won a PBA regional title, cashed very well in previous Nationals and won a few more Hawaii TV titles. It's great to see that the two handed delivery is getting the recognition it is because it is a great style and as for everything takes hours of practice and learning how to adjust to it.  I'm not currently on tour, looking to put some things in place to start making the transition into the Regional circuit on the West side, then onto the national tour.

As for the water video, I also run a marketing company (www.StevensVIEW.com) and Perfect Water is one of the companies I do marketing and distribution for, we had already lost the match, so thought it'd be funny to plug in some product placement. and as for falling off the shot, it was for TV so I was running out shots left and right, post delivery, but thanks for the notice. I've been continuing to work out many things dealing with this style and continuing to study many people who utilize it to see what would work for me.  Hope this gives those who are curious little more insight of who I am, any further questions, feel free to drop em on here or check out my Facebook or Myspace.

Aloha,
Justin Stevens

Aloha Justin.

I remember bowling the Hawaii TV tourneys with you.

I used to sell the Perfect Water at my massage therapy clinic in Ewa Beach.  Heaven Sent Massage.

I dig your 2-handed bowling style.  Glad to see you have adapted it to your bowling style.

Hey Justin, just a shout out to you!  Have been seeing you bowl here and there in Hawaii, and just to let people out there know that Justin is a class act.  I remember bowling next to him at Schofield Bowl and I was with my family.  We have seen you on Hawaii TV Bowling a time or two, but my son, who is a Junior Bowler, was particularly impressed.  He was really blown away when you came over and told my son that he was a really good bowler (he was 11 at the time and is 12 now) and that he should keep up the good work and the he is a really good bowler.  Justin Stevens is a class act.
