Title: Kegel Bourbon Street
Post by: DrBob806 on July 24, 2017, 05:02:50 PM
I know it's in the Recreation pattern category, but I've never bowled on it. I'm heading to a tournament that's putting it down (newer synthetics). Any advice from those who've played on it? Looks heavy 10-10 on the graph, 40' long. Thanks in advance.

Never bowled on it specifically but a lot of house shots are in that 40 ft range.  I would start out the way you do on any house shot and adjust accordingly.

I bowled on it for the first time a couple weeks ago and shot my 2nd 800 on it the first 3 games. I was able to throw my Brunswick Absolute Nirvana. My breakpoint was about 8-9 and I was able to just keep bumping inside for more oil

Bourbon Street is not a complicated pattern, but can be tricky if you are trying to swing the lane early.  I've seen it on a few different surfaces and have always been able to start just inside the track throwing a baby swing with a lower response solid (Freakshow Solid, Xeno, Fanatic BTU).

If memory serves me correct, Kegel Bourbon Street is a higher scoring pattern. The place where I bowled had some friction to the outside. But I started around 10 and made 2-and1 moves left. The piece(s) I used was a Radical Yeti Untamed (pin-up) and Platinum Ringer (pin-down)
