Kegel Training Center
« on: December 28, 2009, 03:31:45 AM »
Has anyone taken a lesson at the Kegel Training Center?

My girlfriend purchased a full day lesson as my Christmas gift and I was wondering what should I expect.

I would also would like to know if the day of training helped your game.

Thanks,
Gil

I'm scheduled for a full day tomorrow.  One of the things I plan on focusing on tomorrow is lane play on the PBA patterns since the only time I really see them is at a regional. Since I already see a coach, I have a pretty good idea where my physical game is, although I expect to look at a couple of minor issues that seen to be recurring.  I'll try and post some feedback on Thursday after I have some time to digest everything.

I was at kegal in Aug. of this year. Great for the sport shot. It helped me with my targeting. They tried to change my release,  I had a very hard time releasing the ball there way due to arthritis in my hands and fingers.  I learned a lot about the tec end of bowling. If you bowl only on a house shot don't know how much it will help. My sport ave went up 12 pins, house about 5 pins. 227 ths ave 205 sport. I wish I lived closer to Kegal I would attend more often. I think it is worth every penny. I have tried many coaches in the past. I only work with Ron Hatfield now. And if I could kegal also Both are great. Working with Ron I took my ths ave from 200 to 222 my sport from 175 to 200.

Trust me, my mind is not closed.  I simpley said that I have an idea where my physical game is, not that I wasn't open to suggestions on improving it.  If I had a closed mind, I would not be seeing a coach already nor would I have schedule the time at Kegel.

I`ve been there now three different times over six years. You will learn how to roll the ball for todays game. Check your ball for proper fit. You will take a video of how you throw the ball now and then one being coached. Don`t expect instant results. You will have to work hard if you have alot of bad faults. It helps watching the video when you get home. Just be open minded. Joe Slowinski, Dale Warren and Randy Stoughton all GREAT coaches. Wish I could go again. We all could use a tune up. Have fun.

im planning on going with a few freidns soon. you need to buy your girlfriend a diamond! a full day is like 500 bucks if im not mistaken. but the junior phenom Michael Coffey bowls at our house, goes there all the time for FREE! Ive watched this 14 yr old transform into something amazing, he can depict my bowling game and i even let him coach me and im 22. Kegel from what he has told me changes everything into what could be perfection. ENJOY IT WHOEVER GETS THE CHANCE TO GO! and let us know how it went!!

You'd better hurry up and do it or guys are going to be lined up at her door to beat you to it!  --  JohnP

You couldn’t be more right!!!!
I already have to beat the guys off with a stick since she is not only attractive and a great gift giver but also one hell of a bowler. She is just getting back to bowling after a 10 year break and she is throwing the ball better than me. Last Sunday I shot 239-245 and she shoots 258-266. It’s an unfair comparison since she is bowling on the EASY side of the lane.

Thanks for everyone’s replies!!!
