OK, I know this has been posted before, but is it really true that kitty litter can have the same effect as Hook Again? I noticed some people said it seemed like kitty litter. Is there any truth to this, or is it just a myth? That would be cool if it's true, since i need to restore my ball, and I have cats!
But I think it's just a myth.
Thanks.

I've heard that it actually does work.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique
And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

Yes it works, however, the cheapest kitty litter clay based works best

Clay based you say? How much do I need? Anyone know the process of how to do this? I have a SmashR with 200 plus games, I want to restore some of it's power.

Hi Mom!
-
kitty litter is used around oil spills(on driveways etc...) and chemical spills. It is a good absorbant, but I do not know how well it would work on a ball that has the oil soaked inside. I fail to see how it can really pull it out. But I also have heard it works. Any experiences shared are appreciated from here as well
-
Hmm, yes, any experiences?

Hi Mom!

How long did you leave it in? I think someone said before for a couple days, though that might be wrong.

kitty litter...???
Can we REALLY be coming to this..???
If this is the case, I'm gonna build the world's largest centrifuge, build a cage that can house 20-25 balls at a time, charge $10 per ball, and after 60-70 years of use, I'll start clearing profits and retire just before I'm put in the earth!

Anyone else with input? Thanks GunsForTots.

Cover the holes in your ball with tape, completely cover the ball with kitty litter (clay) leave for at least 4 days, remove clean off residue and you will have removed some of the oil. I have used this method for the last 3-4 years.
-
Don't laugh guys...I have a friend out here who makes rosin bags with kitty litter in them and my other bud Ernie McCracken has also tried this method and has also seen it work. He said the kitty litter did extract the oil out but boy was his cat pissed...had to wait to go the bathroom...bowling ball was in the way...

I’ve been using kitty litter for about 4 years. Seems to be working well. I figured since a bag of kitty litter only costs about $3, didn’t have much to lose if it didn’t work.
Try this. Pick a ball you know is oil soaked. Hold a hair dryer on the track and see how the surface gets wet.
Get a 5 gal bucket, put a couple of inches of kitty litter in the bottom, put the ball in, cover it completely with kitty litter. I leave the ball in for 6-7 days.
Take the ball out of the kitty litter, wipe the residue off, hit the track again with the hair dryer and see the difference.
I rotate my balls thru the kitty litter treatment about once a month.
For $3, what do you have to lose.
One word of caution. If you have cats, make sure you cover the bucket. Might get a little messy otherwise.

It works. Give it a try. Get a 10-20 lb. bag of straight clay litter and a 5 gallon bucket. It's the cheapest Hook Again system out there!

Does this have to be done with the clay type of litter or can you use the scoopable form of litter?? The scoopable form looks more like the actual stuff used in the hook again system.

Clay litter only. The cheapest you can find. After use dispose of.
