Just want to thank you guys for teaching me various things about bowling. From surfaces, equipment maintenance, etc. It has not gone to waste!

It’s very satisfying when we can help out fellow members; I love teaching the game, it’s satisfying as can be.   Continue to learn the sport m, and soon you also will be able to pass on what you’ve learned and make a difference yourself.

Grow the sport!!!!’

Over the years, I have learned a lot, SOME of which is still relevant.

I have loved bowling, and I want everybody else to love it too, and the best way to do that is to help them understand it.

Just last night, I watched a lady struggling with a ball way too strong for her. I finally convinced her that what the guy in the shop told her about certain balls being for light oil and others being for heavy oil was a marketing misnomer.

Got her to “ball down” from a Gauntlet and Special Ops (which were burning up 35 feet down the lane) to a Boost, and move into the shot, where it was easier to keep the ball in front of her. She promptly threw a four bagger, shook her head, and asked “Why hasn’t anybody ever told me this before. I thought that ball was just for spares and really dry lanes.”

 Made me feel good. :)

I love to help folks enjoy the game. The only way they’ll continue to bowl is if they’re having fun, and they can’t have fun unless they understand what they are trying to do, how to do it, and why they do it that way.

Once you see the light come on in their eyes, and they start to “get it”, you also see them get even more enthusiastic about it, because now they know what they’re working with, and how to achieve improvement.

Yes, this place has been great. Had a few questions answered and done a whole lot of reading. The only negative is that many threads cause G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome.)

Agreed.  There is a good nucleus of bowlers here who have years of experience that have helped me with ideas, etc.   Thanks to all.

We need the Misc Non Bowling Related forum back . .

OMG!! In this day and age of Trump, that would be like declaring a nuclear verbal war!
Though I have to admit...when we had it, I was addicted to it because it was just like,  "Must See TV" or your most favorite reality show!

I think we are better off overall with the civility and calmness that this site now presents to everyone! Sharing and caring is good!

That acrimony and divisiveness we used to have was draining in the Non Bowling area.
