Kwik Patch kit
« on: December 21, 2004, 09:20:17 AM »
Does anyone know if this stuff actually works? Like to repair a small chip that would'nt come out by resurfacing. I have a couple bowling balls that have a chip on each of them and saw this stuff. I want to give it a try, but just wondering if someone else has "been there done that" and it did'nt work. Thanks

I've only used it once but had no problems.

It's okay but I have found that using a 1/2" drill bit to just touch the damaged area and plugging it with clear works just as well if not better.

I have never done any type of plug work at all so I wouldn't want to drill it and do a regular plug. This sounds like a easy (without any experience) do it yourself type product. About how many small repairs could be made with 1 kit?

legend4life95 -- A bunch, it only takes a few drops to fill a small blemish.  I think the stuff does have a defined shelf life - for an individual you're more likely to exceed that than to use it all up.  After it sets up you'll have to sand the excess off without sanding a flat spot on the ball.  Do you have a spinner?  --  JohnP

No, I don't have a spinner yet. I hope to get one in febuary. Is it impossible to do by hand without getting a flat spot?

legend4life95 -- No, just difficult.  If it's in an area the track doesn't hit, it doesn't make much difference.  --  JohnP
