Label drillings
« on: December 27, 2009, 02:02:06 AM »
I'm thinking about going back to the urethane type over the label drill. What do you guys think? Does anybody on here do this already? Kind of tired of the special drillings that seem to make everything condition specific.

While this may seem like a good idea on the surface, you need to remember this: Back in "the old days" of urethane popularity, most balls had the pin in the label area.

Nowadays, even if you drill a ball over the label, most likely the pin will be at least 2-3 inches away.

And another thing. It isn't always the pin position that makes a ball condition specific. More likely is the surface of the ball and the volume of oil it was designed to handle.
