My home center was host to the Western Women's Professional Bowlers this weekend. I went down and watched the B Squad's 1st 5 games and A Squads 2nd set of games. I was able to watch Missy Bellinder, Laura Hardeman, and Tish Johnson, as well as others bowl the B Squad.
When A-Squad came on, I watched Robin Romeo 288-279. I also watched Kim Terell, Tori Carter, Leanne Barrette, Wendy Mcpherson, Tennelle Milligan, and others. They were all impressive. They maintained their composure even if they were struggling. I was in awe of these ladies, their skill and ability to make the adjustments.
I had the pleasure of bowling with Leanne Barrette, Lori Yamasaki, and Tori Carter in the Pro AM. I enjoyed talking to them and admire their stamina. These ladies had bowled 10 games Saturday plus 3 games in the Friday Pro AM. They were very friendly and sociable. They made a point to greet each one of us and thank us for participating.
Unfortunately I only got to watch the 1st 2 games of match play today. But I was treated to seeing Robin Romeo shoot 299, a 4 pin kept her from the 300. I did hear Leanne got a 300 later in the day as did one of the guys, I believe it was Tom McNaughton who got 2 300s.
Wendy Mcpherson and Dave Wodka won the tournament with Leanne Barrette and Jason Milligan taking 2nd. Sorry if I seem to be slighting the men, but being a female I was interested in watching their games to see what I might try to improve my own game.
After watching these ladies, it would be a shame if the PWBA is not able to be reserrected. The is an abundance of talent out there and it deserves to be showcased. Tori and I had this conversation while bowling. She finds it hard to believe that there isn't something that can be done to get sponsorship. Bowling is the #1 participant sport and draws a good share of TV viewing, yet struggles for sponsorship.
In conclusion, if you have the opportunity to get out and watch the ladies in a regional or something like the WWPB, do it. You will be glad you did.

I have no life, therefore I bowl or I bowl, therefore I have no life? Okay here is the truth I bowl, therefore there is life
