They are by far the easiest Interchangeables to install...

It is just a sleeve that glues into the hole.

The inner acts like a Brunswick Customatic fitting ball. It slides in and twists.

I have installed over 200 of these without failure between my shop and the 150 or so I installed at the Lane#1 booth in Alb. 2008.

I only offer these and the Vise IT at my shop. I stay away from the Switch Grip. Too much dangerous past history.

Not trying to butt-in, but VISE IT is offered in 3 sizes I don't know about the Switch grip and different size options as I do not carry any other brand but VISE IT.

The 1 3/16 is not with the kit. Purchase separately from Exactacator (VISE)
They also have a sleeve that gives you the opportunity to change out a switch grip to VISE 1 3/8 slug!

Is this because of stories you've heard/read or because of problems you've had yourself installing them?  I use Turbo and Vise and I've had no problems with either as far as customer care or installation.  Also you say the 1-1/2 seems too big but the larger "it" is 1-7/16.  You think that is much different? Not trying to start an arguement just want your opinion since you seem like a busy shop.

Yes. Past history I've heard.. I've heard horror stories of the tabs breaking on the Switch Grip and people being hurt. Mike Austin comes to mind as well. Not a bash against Switch Grip I am just stating why I don't use it. The past experiences of people I've talked to steered me away. I have had no problem with the VIse IT at all. I have also been using the Grip Loc since before Lane#1 aquired the dist rights..

It was just an opinion and what I use..

One more thing about the hole sizes... I know 1 7/16" is not much different that 1 1/2". If the bits are slightly dull they chatter pretty good. It's the pro and con of the devices..

The Vise "IT" also can be installed in place of the switch grip if you want to change from switch grip to IT!

I have used teh GripLoc for 3-4 years now.

Yes it is easy to install but it is also the least durable of teh bunch.

It seems that every inner sleeve I use gets some play in it after 1/2 to 3/4 of a season....

I am looking into the IT system but teh $400 initial investment is a pretty big leap to take.
