I've been working with my coach on trying to keep my ball speed down for my ball to read sport shot patterns better. Due to the fact that I have a low track combined with stroker type revs, if I throw the ball a mph or two too fast, the ball doesn't read the breakpoint as well as I tend to leave more single pins.
My coach is of the belief that I should still start my ball at waist high and just get my feet a little faster in motion in order to get the ball to go slower when I'm at my release point. He says if I get any lower in my set up stance it wouldn't be condusive to proper leverage at my release point as I've had a tendency to dip with the shoulders forward on the last step.
Any suggestions to try to knock that mph or two off the ball speed would be greatly appreciated. I'm not against all the spare shooting I've been doing- it's just that I've been averaging 13-15 single pins a 3 game set for my sport shot challenge league, and I know that getting the ball to read the lanes a little better would probably knock that total down by 2-3 a set...
