Lane Machines
« on: January 25, 2011, 05:57:34 AM »
This is just an informal survey of what lane conditioning machine your bowling centres use.

we went from using a 15 year old DBA phenoix( not the S or tournament) pad machine, to a Refurbished Brunswick A22. So far the new machine has done just about everything we've asked of it, and just with a few small changes to an oil soap/stripper combo we have got a great house shot out of it again.

so what does your local centres use?

Kegel/DBA/Brunswick/AMF/Century?

Phenoix

Kustodian

Walker

Ion

Silver Bullet

A22

There are 7 houses in our local association, and 5 use the DBA Phoenix, one uses a Century, and I'm not sure what the other one uses, it might be a Century too.

I also bowl in Missouri, where is the house located that uses a sprayer and mop? I have always wanted to play on the old conditions.

Both local houses use a Kegel Ion. One being Pro Anvilane and the other being a synthetic head/wood backends setup.

Phoenix 8-pad. Originally had all 5" pads, but was updated several years back to the 7-3-5-5 set up and a software upgrade to add an additional speed. Luckily ours has the 15 different patterns and a lot of control on speed and oil/cleaning set up.

I was running a tournament in a different center in our association that also had a Phoenix that was a lot newer, but had very limited pattern control and only 4 or 5 patterns, that one was a real piece of junk.

Roll with 900 Global.

I'm surprised so many of your local houses still use pad machines. the phoenix we had was the older pad configuration. Its a solid machine to put out a condition that is good for house pattern, but its an old stick in the mudd when it comes to changing for one league vs another.

none of your local centres have walkers? we have one centre here that has one but has virtually no leagues left. they just do alot of open play, and have an owner that spends money on anything with bells and whistles
