Hola amigos! I used to contribute a lot on these forums a decade or so ago when I was a teenager. I haven't touched a bowling ball in 4-5 years now, and haven't competed for a couple years longer than that. When I was bowling last, I feel like centers were closing down, youth competition was decreasing, and league participation was dwindling.

What has taken place over the last 5 years or so? Are things picking back up? How is the sport doing? I will always have a very special place in my heart for the game and the people I have met through bowling even if I never bowl another game in my life

Youth presence now vs 5 years ago is great. The sport has created a lot of opportunities for them to grow and get their name thrown around competing in tournaments, high school, and college. 10 years ago the local high schools couldn't get funding to keep teams. Now they all have good sized teams. Jr Gold is happening now actually.

Woman's PWBA tour is booming! So good outlook for woman.

The PBA signed a deal to move to fox and some 19 televised tournaments I believe.

Local leagues are running near full or full and we have some more scratch tourneys and scratch league starting up.

The USBC needs to get their sh!t together, but that'll come after Chad Murphy is out the door.
