I recently started throwing Lane Masters and Lord Field equipment. Two companies which I thought had gone under but to my surprise they had not! I remembered throwing the Lane Masters Black Pearl when I was a Junior and really liking it. Tossed a couple 300's with it. Fast forward 12 years and they are still around. So far I've thrown the Big Kahuna Tribal and Congo, Pandemic Zombie and Buzz Attack Stinger. I've thrown a few others but these are by far some of my favorites so far. I've noticed since I have started throwing their stuff that there are some pretty strong opinions about the balls being terrible which I just don't understand.

Whats your opinion of the there equipment? Have you thrown any of there stuff recently? Likes? Dislikes?

Loved the original Lane Masters/Legends products. The new stuff is just a cheap imitation of the original.

I've never thrown a Lord Field ball, so no opinion on them.

I have heard that too. Which of the new stuff have you thrown that you didn't like?

Legends/Lanemasters did away with the "diamond" dust particles. Legends was mostly 2 piece constructed balls with very durable particle coverstocks. Lanemasters is more of the "Flagship" brand with the most variety of balls, 2-piece & 3-piece. Lord Field is the parent company of the modern day brands using filler in all of their balls with cores that have been in the Legends/Lanemasters family for years.

The balls have the same motion of just about anything else on the market on house shots. Their slow oil absorption rates make their 2 piece equipment skid a bit too far and exit the pattern too slow for heavier volumes and long sport patterns.

My quick & dirty wrap up from owning 4-5 of these balls, they need defined friction, they're decent balls but for the money there's much more "proven performers" out there. In a free market, experiment as you wish. The Exodus series (Impact series cores), King/Queen balls (Get Some Core) and Talent Series (Buzz cores) are the cream of the crop out of their brands.

When they were popular I loved the Lanemasters brand. I still own a brand new Sting. I loved the Black Pearl, since that was the most popular piece in my area. The Big Kahuna and the Yeah Baby were also very popular, and got a lot of lane play!

Original Sting? Now you have my attention. If it's 15 lbs and you're willing to part with it, let me know. It's a very hard ball to find NIB.

I think they went through a period of mediocrity while reforming and after the loss of Tony, though I think they have turned the corner.  Last year I dropped weight and tried storm, Track, 900 global, grabbed a lit as soon as it was released, no complaints, then it was suggested I try their Morpheus Dream and wow, on a 25mls  house shot it outclassed everything I had.  After seeing that reaction, I tried a few others and it really seems like they are making good products again, but have a challange of restoring their name.  I was a fan of them years ago and to me at least, they are winning me back.
