New Shoes
« on: April 04, 2009, 05:46:17 PM »
I'm going to upgrade to a nice pair of bowling shoes. The two i like are the Brunswick Mens Classics and the Dexter SST 5 LX Blacks. I have to have a wide shoe so these two fit that bill. which of the two do you like?

I used to own the Dexter SST 5 LX Blacks until I wore them out, but they were the most comfortable shoes one could own, IMO. Can't give you anything useful about the Brunswick's, though.

The Dexter's will NOT disappoint.

Dexter is the best shoe in bowling, hands down, bar none.

I would definitely go with the Dexters.

My husband and I switched from Dexter SST6s last year during nationals in ABQ to the Brunswick Classics and wouldn't go back.  The Brunswick shoes are made by Dexter and use the same soles and heels, but they have a slightly wider base and a more sturdy upper.  I joke about how the women's classics look like orthopedic shoes, but I simply love them.  I haven't fallen off a shot due to a slightly off-center ankle in the year I've been using them.

Oh!  The toe box is bigger, both wider and higher, so toes don't feel jammed during a slide or plant.  Gotta love being able to wiggle your toes!

I have both sst5 LX and sst6LE . I would say if ur looking for a nice wide shoe i would go with sst6 LE. The foot print of them is much wider. Shoe is almost a square nose thats how much wider they are they the sst5 LX .

i'm currently wearing the Dexter Turbo II in 13 wide. They seem a bit long but the 12 wide was way to tight. will the SST 6 fit wider than the turbo, both in wide sizes?

Dexter is by far not the best shoe in bowling bar none. They make a fine shoe but 900 Global has shoes that are as well made or better and last every bit as long.

3G shoes are by far superior to dexters IN MY OPINION.

I bought a used pr to try. 2 weeks later I bought a NEW pr.

JUST AN all around AWESOME SHOE!!!

9G's are mostly hype and overpriced and I own a Pro Shop. I own a pair of Dexter SST 6 SE myself and love them.

i had dynorooz they were more comfortable that dexters but quality was crap in my opinion... the slides didnt last long AT ALL and the stupid ring around the slide came apart quickly... i have dexters now and love them and will never get any other brand unless etonic decides to put out shoes with changeable heels

SST6 LE are wider then the standard dexters . Dexter has SSt6LE which is the wide and the SST6 se which only come in medium width . If wide is what u need i would definitely get the SST 6 LE
