This Ebay listing Takes Da Cake

In the past I have posted and pointed out ebay listings that were down right ridiculous and insane...but I believe this one get the award for the most outlandish Ebay bowling listing of all time......sure, the ebay store that is selling this item is not a bowling store..they have various items..but I gotta wonder where in the world they get the asking price from?? unless they saw the new one listed on ebay for 1,000 and figured a drilled one was worth half of that??  and plugged and re-drilled at that..check it out here

I see attached to that listing is the original Brunswick Edge.  That was my first urethane ball.  Sold it when I gave up bowling in 1987.  When I came back 11 years later, bowling balls had really changed.

These are the type of balls you like to take with you on a THS league night and throw a high 600 series with it! Doesn't always happen, but when it does! :)

I think I had more fun going to my mix league when I used old equipment. Pulling out those old gems I used 10 - 15 years ago.

Obviously, it's pretty unlikely that anyone will pony up $500 for that ball. Still, nothing surprises me anymore in terms of asking price. The Bowling Gems group on Facebook routinely had people asking $250+ for balls that were mediocre at best in their own time let alone in today's environment. Some people don't understand that just because a ball is old/rare, that doesn't automatically make it good and/or worth hundreds of dollars.

Exactly.   Something has changed in the minds of sellers the past handful of years. There was a time when you could pick up recently discontinued balls NIB for a really low price, and now all of a sudden the past few years it seems as if anyone selling a ball weather the ball was a hit or a turkey when it was out warrants a 200+ price tag in their eyes.

Yea, the mentioned group bought a ball from me on eBay that I almost could not sell. It finally went for $75, it's currently listed on eBay for $209. Good luck with that. LOL

Again, I suppose it's a person's right to ask whatever they want to ask in terms of selling price. Those of us who don't like the price/know better can simply laugh it off and move on with our lives. Who knows, maybe these sellers keep finding that one guy or gal who just LOVED that particular ball more than any they've ever had and are willing to pay the big bucks to have one back. I wouldn't, but that doesn't mean that's the case for everybody.
