Flare Rings
« on: February 16, 2009, 03:58:20 AM »
I have a quick question... I forget what is said about the flare rings on a ball. What is the difference between a ball with tight flare rings opposed to a ball with wider flare rings?

Just that wider flare rings mean more flare, which means more fresh ball surface in contact with the lane.  I believe this translates into more and earlier hook.

Or, with other words, the core migrates quicker to its stable end axis.
