Title: Lane#1 and Morich Now Fully PBA Registered.
Post by: JPRLane1 on October 29, 2004, 11:37:22 AM
Both of these companys that were previously only for regional and senior competition are now fully registered for all PBA competition.  Does anyone know if there will be anyone on the national tour throwing Lane#1 or Morich this year.  Seems kind of weird them both waiting till last minute to complete full registration.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.

Money is the root of all evil and the PBA wants a bunch of money to "register". Damn, still sounds more like a bribe to Grand Vizier. :d

That's probably why they waited: just made enough money to pay that "bribe".

Please correct me if I am wrong......but in speaking to Craig Moore, a Lane 1 rep. (spoke to him Thursday) he said that they had been PBA registered for 3-4 years. I believe that the year before last Rudy "Revs" was using lane 1??

Danny Wiseman used MoRich equipment today to win the Masters.  Not sure which one he used.  --  JohnP

If this is true, I know Jim Tomek will be throwing Morich for the tournaments that he is in.  I know he is not exempt, but i'm sure he'll make it through some of the qualifiers.  I wouldn't be suprised seeing Danny Wiseman throwing morich either, he was using them this summer during regionals.

Both Tomek and Wiseman will more than likely be throwing Morich all year if they are now fully registered. Wouldnt be surprised if many more of the "free agents" start throwing Morich as well. Wait till the new ball comes out in a couple of weeks, the WMB (Weapon of Mass Bias).

And Yes, Wiseman used the Ravage today, great ball.

Didn't take Mo a long time to shine after getting product registered.  That's a quick turnaround for success, I think.

I talked to the pro-shop operator at Sparetimes near Mo's warehouse.  He said he can't keep 15# Total Annihilations in stock to save his skin.  Imagine what this win is going to do to him.

I wonder. We know we, for the most part, can't do what Pros do, PLUS we, for the most part, don't bowl on the pro's conditions. The winning ball rarely sees a sudden increase in ball sales because of a TV win. At least rational bowlers will not buy the ball that the winner used on TV, for that sole reason. Mo probably can't keep them in stock because it works and word is spreading.

The consummate example of a TV winning ball never selling is the Helix. Walter Ray won the Petraglia Open here in NJ with one. MY Pro Shop guy was ecstatic, figuring he'd finally get rid of the 3 he had to buy. Nope, didn't happen. They sat there till he just dumped them a few years later.
