Lanes
« on: October 16, 2009, 02:29:12 AM »
I am bowling at a house and struggling. The shot is this. If you throw the ball out about the 10 board the ball rolls out and never recovers. If I throw it in the ball takes off. I am using the following balls. Any help would be appreciated on how can I bowl on this.

Hammer Black Widow Pearl - Polished. - Drilled to go long
Hammer Black Widow - Sanded - Drilled to hook early
Hammer Black Widow Sting - Sanded - Drilled to go long and snap.

All of these when I throw the ball out they either roll out or take off on the brooklyn side when I get the ball in. I tried playing straight down 10. I tried hooking across the lane. NOTHING WORKS. Any ideas?

Sounds like short oil.  You probably need less ball.  Also, move out to 5 to the gutter.

Boos,

I have one house I bowl in with a similar shot, I am currently looking at getting a less aggressive ball.  I am currently trying to get feedback on the Ebonite Bash as an option.

Why would I get an less aggressive ball.

The current ball''s you have are too strong for the lane condition''s you have. So when the high performance ball is used, they burn off all their energy and roll out. Dead ball at that point. A less aggressive ball like a Storm Fast, Ebonite Bash, Ebonite Ice, Brunswick Power Groove Reactive, will retain energy alot more and you should see better ball reaction on the lane''s and beable to keep the ball on the correct side of the pin''s.

LMFAO, I'll bet there was big $$$$$$ signs in the proshop operators eyes when Boos asked for a ball to go long and snap

And I can't understand why some people just don't realize with modern technology, less is more!

Are you reading what the others have stated already? If you did then you would know what that's not good. In the three balls you listed you have all high end highly aggresive equipment. You need to look towards a lower end ball. Since I use all Brunswick I would say the Power Groove but there are many options outthere. Go back through and reread everything carefully to see what others have already said.

Because the BWP is a pretty strong piece.  The entire BW series is.  What people are saying is to flat out get a weaker ball.  A razyr or a vibe if you are trying to be strictly Hammer.

Of course there are more weak balls to choose from.

I am reading all of it. I just did not know that all of them were high aggressive balls. Some are saying a power groove or razyr. Will that hook enough on the backend?

Emeralnd/Cherry Vibe if you want to stick with Hammer, other balls have been listed but I'd add the Ebonite Boom to the list.
