« on: January 23, 2006, 12:58:24 PM »
i love bowling but damn, i walk out of there after 3 games and i have to do 2 things 1)wash my hands and 2) take a shower! i reek of smoke and not only that, i have a 5yr old that likes to go but damn im thinking of leaving her home for her own good! drinking is ok i guess because it doesnt effect me, you want to suck down budweiser and scream and shout fine, but put out those damned ciggarettes before i gag and then puke. anyone else agree with me? are there any centers that are doing this yet?
lets face it... this isnt deadlifting or picking up women.. its BOWLING!!!! Stop acting tough when you roll 4 strikes in a row!!!

It would be the best day of my life if my bowling alley went smokeless.
I used to smoke, but even when I smoked I didn't like smoking in the alley but everyone else did it so I did too. Now that I'm clean from the malecholic disease called tobacco for over 3 years now I don't want those rabid diseased people near me. If you can't go outside or wait to you go home, then you have a serious problem. There is already a couple of big cities in this area that banned smoking in public buildings, I hope the rest of the state does. I nearly died last Friday night cause of that deathstick smoke.

Also, I don't ever want any childern of my own but I just get angry when I see these parents bring thier babies and young kids, epecially babies to a smokecloud bowling alley.

I got so tired of trying to find a place TO smoke in CA so I finally quit after 30 years. OK, it was that and that whole cancer thingy too!!

Keep looking... I'm sure there's a 300 in one of those balls you keep buying!!

That, and at $3 a pack, say 5 days a week, you can now put all that green towards new equipment!

3 dollars a pack?  ITs 5.50 here in nj and like the guy said around april 15th smoking is banned everywhere except for Casinos. I dont understand how they are passing this as a health bill if the casinos are not affected. Oh yeah thats right, the politicians have their retirement funds invested in casinos.

LANE1,

You open that "smokers only" place and see how much business as a whole declines.  75% of business right now is family oriented and last I checked, most toddlers to middle schoolers are not allowed to smoke, and high schoolers only smoke because stupid people buy the cancer sticks for them

in minnesota its hit or miss. my Tuesday league is in Minneapolis and the center is non smoking(Minneapolis ordinance) My Wednesday league in West St Paul falls under Dakota county and is not restricted for now. The Tuesday league lost & gained 1 team from last year to this one (when ban went into effect), but my Wed. league (scratch) gained 3 teams since a partial ban went into effect. We have no statewide ban on the table as far as I know but it would be a more equitable way of evening the field between centers in our metro area.
