The Gathering 2k13 - it's that time again. July 26-28

Almost 2 months away, The Gathering is gearing up for the annual time of bowling, mischief and mayhem.  For those who aren't aware - The Gathering was started years ago by one of the dearly departed, sorely missed alumni of Ballreviews- ThongPrincess.  We have expanded it to involve many of the major bowling forums - all are welcome to the event.  This will be the 11th annual edition, and as always it's being held at Creekside Lanes, with Ron Clifton as our gracious host. The staff there are second to none -- extremely bowler friendly. It's almost like a family reunion feel, only w/bowling balls and not quite the same drama. I'm hosting a cookout Friday afternoon at my house (3 minutes away from Creekside), and all participants are invited.

We may not be all great bowlers, but we are all great people who love to bowl and have a good time. Ron on Sunday gives lessons free of charge to any and all who participated, which is worth the trip by itself. So come one, come all and join us -- You'll be glad you did.

The gatherings are always fantastic events, and Ron C (aka Magic Carpet) is always a gracious host.  The gathering is usually preceded by a golf outing, and Saturday night used to feature poker at Strider's place.  I have fond memories of the Gatherings I've attended in the past.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this year.  The weekend of July 26-28 will find me in Gatlinburg, TN for another event.  To all of those who attend - have fun.  I will miss being there with you.

I envy you guys and wish I could come, but it si 3 days of driving which is too far for this old man.  :'(

Dawg, I wish I could take you up on that. However, I am not fully recovered yet from all the chemo I have had ( 6 weeks the first time and 4 months the second time plus 6 weeks of daily radiation ), so that drive would be a bit long for me plus the high cost of gas, food, and motels to bowl a few games. No doubt the fun though would be worth it, but just can't do it this year.  :'(

The Gathering is next weekend.  I know Kat has an email going around trying to find out who all is coming, but it would be great to get a head count here.  I'm sure the staff at Creekside would like to know how many hooligans will be there.
