The first subject is about Allen spilling water.
I never liked them having water bottles/glasses during the telecast in the bowling area. They could do without a drink while the competition in going on and could drink during commercial breaks. But the delay really seemed to throw Lockwood off his game.
The second is about the PBA junior show. I thought the young ladies threw the ball great. But I was a little surprised that they were both conventional one handed bowlers while the boys were both 2 handed.
For the two handed bowlers. Are there reasons why you see few two handed girls? Are there two handed girls coming up and/or just didn't make the show?
You bring up a valid point regarding the water situation. My thought is they should do something similar to the USBC Tournament and have a water dispenser off to the side that they can still access at any time. That way if there is a spill it is not near the settee area used for the show.
Regarding girls......most of the girls/women you see on tv are only throwing the ball around 17 - 17.5mph on average. One thing you need to throw the ball two handed is ball speed. If one handed they are at 17mph, chances are two handed they wont be any faster and possibly even slower. That is not to say there are not any girls using the two hand method. I am sure that there are. But at the end of the day, how many bowlers do you see on TV that are pretty rev dominate; men or women, one handed or two?
Referencing the bold, that actually could bode BETTER for the women. Case in point: yes, he threw some shots that were off, but Barnes had a faster ball speed and higher revs than Kulick did in that TOC final, yet, Kulick's ball read the lane better due to her slower ball speed.
So it could definitely all be situational at that point, but it also is what makes the girls/women much more versatile. That isn't to say that the men can't be versatile as well; it only means that throwing more speed and ball at it isn't the answer to everything. Here is where making the adjustments and thinking the game through come into mind, and the girls/women have a bit of an upper hand to that in the fact that they have to think their game through more instead of trying to power through it, because they may not have that physical strength to do that.
