Layout
« on: June 29, 2008, 09:39:45 AM »
I was having a conversation with a buddy about how you can see a what a ball can do on a sport shot as opposed to a house shot since every ball comes back when you spray it outside. I started thinking about weird pin positions and my buddy brought up this internet article about this layout that puts the pin under the thumb. I wanted to try this layout so I redrilled a old track solution that was in pretty good condition. We re-did it with the pin 2-inches under the thumb. I cant loop it because it doesnt hit as hard so I decided to go straight up 8 up the back of the ball. The ball doesnt move at all and laysdown in pocket. Its the smoothest in my bag, imjust curious if anybody knows if this layout is legal or not?

as long as the static weights are in limits it's legal.

I think that drilling is one of Danny Wiseman's( as well as others).

Yeah it is legal. I have seen it a few times. The people I have seen with it needed a x hole in the plam which must suck. I have always wanted to try the layout because it is so smooth. If you are thinking of fun layouts, the next one I am trying is I am going to put a left handed stacked layout on a ball. That is going to be fun.

Yes, it's smooth, but it's also SUPER-early. You may have to amp up your ball speed and/or add a large degree of axis rotation or tilt to get the ball to hit properly. Many people who use this can generate a LOT of ball speed.
