This time it is not because of the asking price of the ball.........but I I have never seen shipping charges that high...and it is a domestic listing...wow

I remember, for a while, Ebay only charged the seller on the selling price of the item, not the shipping charges. This was a way people tried to skirt charges. I not sure that this is still the case, though I think it is. Judging from 4 feedbacks, he doesn't do this often.

eBay charges me 10% of my final value fee and 10% of the shipping charge. So if I charge you $25 I net $22.50 after the fee. But people forget PayPal charges on the monies received and that is before eBay takes a cut because eBay bills me the following month. So after eBay and PayPal fees I net about $21 of the $25 fee - at best.

Your ideas of what shipping costs should be are out of date.  I just went on the FedEx Home Delivery website and calculated the actual shipping cost  to my house (Wichita, KS to suburban Chicago, IL).  Lowest cost option: $58.

eBay doesn’t make you choose the way you ship. You can put one thing on the auction and ship via a different means. All I’m saying is there are alternatives and you are not married to the option on the auction nor is the OP.

Just saying there are affordable options.

You don’t pay retail rates when you ship brought eBay.  You print a label and then are charged based on the FedEx weight at eBay’s discounted rate. If you use USPS you purchase upfront Based on weight and size you enter.

Ebay is pushing everyone to use usps priority as their default on everything.  Im assuming usps paid nicely for this promotion.  So now a lot of people are being over charged on shipping because usps priority is the only option posted by the seller.  A lot of the small electronics I look at have doubled and tripled in shipping cost. On something thats 10lbs or less to ship.

Ive asked sellers if they would edit to offer fedex because of the high prices usps charges.  A few have and saved me $$$

As a postal worker it keeps us busy and out of trouble...it would be cool if we came out with a flat rate box that was similar in size to a bowling ball box...but don't hold your breath.

There was a 9X9X9 flat rate box a few years ago. I still have a couple of them. But my local post office won't honor the rate anymore.

I checked that listing, only two rates: $83.66 UPS ground and $94.18 FedEx to my house in NJ. Both are "standard shipping", so I wonder that USPS would be less and take longer? SMH

Must have made a mistake on weight or dimensions.  All of his other 16lbs stuff was less then $20 on shipping while the Razor was almost $65 to my location.
