League Bowling Shot?
« on: February 24, 2004, 03:58:07 PM »

Last night in our Men's league, our House decided to completly change the League shot.  They basically put down so much oil, you couldn't get the ball to turn at all the entire night.  They consulted no one, and only said they were experimenting with a shot they may use in the Summer.  Now my question is, does this crap happen in other houses, and shouldn't the league members vote on drastic changes like this.

I agree that this is good for the league. It weeds out the wannabe scratch bowlers and, besides that, the reason anyone would complain is because they're not good spare shooters. The only thing one has to do on a tough shot is make spares. I happen to love alot of oil because where I am, leagues like to put out bone dry conditions that you would have to either have a 0 degree axis tilt or have a rubber ball to shoot on it. Be lucky you have oil and can go out and get a super aggressive particle ball to shoot on the shot. Like my coach told me " It's easy to find an over-aggressive particle piece but it's very hard to find a plastic ball that hits.

Bob's comment is far too sad but true. If you moved the shot and arrow, even if you made it easier there, 80% couldn't find it or hit it.
