Six-Time PBA Tour Champion Dave D’Entremont Dies
by Bill Vint October 12, 2013 06:03

The Professional Bowlers Association has learned of the death earlier today of six-time PBA Tour champion Dave D’Entremont of Middleburg Heights, Ohio. D’Entremont, 52, earned more than $1.3 million during a career that began in 1982. Known as “Double D” to his fellow competitors, D’Entremont’s most cherished victory was in the 1996 PBA Tournament of Champions (click here to watch the finals on YouTube:

No additional details were immediately available.

----------

So after looking at his stats, here are some of the highlights of his PBA career.  50 PBA 300 games, 6 PBA titles including 1 major (1996 Brunswick World Tournament of Champions).  Best year was 1995 with 2 titles, the Harry Smith points leader award, and won $184,075 in earnings.  Double D also made 33 career TV appearances, won over $1 million in his career, and also won 19 PBA Regional titles.

I still remember this match.  DD vs Jimmy Keeth back in 1996.

Wow, I just subscribed to his youtube channel last night to watch that old World Team Challenge show with him and Rudy Revs on the same team from 1995.  Sad to hear.

Always loved to watch the big guy out there.
He practically put TRACK on store shelves by himself.

I remember watching him on tv and when he was throwing the Track Synergy and he won the tournament. I immediately went and bought that ball and tried to bowl like him. He will be sorely missed.

What was the cause of death?

RIP to a great person, met him once at a pro-am. All around class act and would give you the bowling balls from his personal bag (Track Synergy!) Definitely will be missed!

Additional information came out about his career.  The Plain Dealer newspaper in Cleveland states that D'Entremont died from an undisclosed illness.  Wayne Webb also made some nice comments.

This is terrible news. He was fun to watch. Big, tall man and threw a power ball. Long ago in the late 90's I think he had some wrist problems and had to drop to a 14lb ball for awhile and wasn't doing much on tour then won a title finally in 2002 give or take I believe against Chris Barnes in Wichita that was his last title. Correct me if I am wrong.
