I had gone to the theatre last night...was going to watch Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy, but it was sold out and we watched the Enron movie. Good movie, but not my point in posting...
As one of the trailers, they promo'ed League of Ordinary Gentlemen. The Alamo Draft House is a theatre that shows some of the off-the-beaten-path movies, so the fact that they were going to show the movie was not a surprise. What was a surprise was some of the comments in a relatively packed theatre. Lots of positive (albeit hushed) comments about having used to watch the PBA or having bowled when they were younger and that dealt with the interest in seeing the movie.
The fact that the promo was relatively well produced may have contributed to keeping the interest and reducing the derogatory comments, but it seemed to reinforce that there is still some interest out there in the non-league bowler segment of the population.
And, yes, the crotch chop seemed to garner the most interest as the trailer progressed...
