Anyone seen those new Brunswick ball cups?
« on: September 17, 2004, 11:40:09 AM »
The ball rests within a metal ring fitted with ball bearings.  The metal ring fits within a plastic base, and is free to turn within the base.  This allows the ball to be turned in the cup without having to lift the ball.

I got the chance to try one out at a local shop the other day, and it makes working out thumbholes *much* easier.

Very cool!

Bruce Heim, one of the owners of the National Bowling Store is my driller/fitter. They have them at their shop in Tonawanda, NY, and if I remember correctly the price is between $10 and $15.

here is a link to their website:

We got one in the other day.  Kind of neat but we sell generic ball rings for $1.    $15 is a lot of money.  People lose, swipe, misplace ball rings all the time.  I'd hate to misplace a really nice one.  Great idea for the bowler whos got everything.

Don't know how many would lose one on their workbench. They are great for many uses at home, cleaning, polishing, etc. Not that they will replace a spinner, but VERY handy. I still use the "standard" rings for as well, but the one that "spins" is IMHO a must for anyone that really takes care of their equipment and does regular thorough maintenance.
