question about Asymmetrical & Symmetrical Balls

I want some of your opinions on why with asymmetrical bowling balls I do not match up well, were as symmetrical balls work great for me. I have a hard time getting the asymmetrical balls to hook and leave a ton of corner pins with them.
With symmetrical balls I can get them to come back and come back hard and crush the pocket with them, WHY?
  Me I am a lefty with med. revs never had them checked, but I have no problem hooking the ball in oil. I think about 17 in the speed department. And also I stay behind the ball and also can work inside the ball if need be.

I'll take a shot.....
with asymetric you have to account with pin/MB positions as well as cover and strength of the core.you might have been trying the wrong layouts for your game.I've also read that asymetrical balls require a more consistant release and can be more condition specific over symetrical,I've found the condition specific part to be true.what asymetrical balls have you tried?

The two Asymmetrical balls that I tried and did not have any luck with are the Cell from Roto, and The Complete NV from Ebonite. The Cell is Dull box surface and the Complete NV was shined. I couldn't get either one to work worth damm for me.

don't know why you were'nt happy with the cell and nvs,but it's also a match up game.just like any other ball,some work better then others for me.what did you not like about them? please be more specific...

I was the same way with my cell.. Where did you put the MB.  I put mine way too strong for my pap , tilt and revs... lower pin with a 45 deg mb.. and the cover is really strong..
The ball never wanted to come back and had zero backend or recovery..
I really think it was the drilling that made the ball not work for me. I should have just drilled it how I normally drill my stuff and let the cell's charateristics take over.. instead of trying to help them..

  My Cell was layed out pretty close to the way you describing,(remember I am a lefty) but also I have a AMF Code with the pin in the same position and that ball has great backend recovery and alot of room for error.

 The Cell ,and Complete NV just couldn't get any carry with them, a ton of corner pins, and had a hard time to get them to hook. My Seceret Agent hooks alot more than my Cell ever did, in fact that is my oil ball, and it works great in the oil.

for the cell try 500 abralon and polish it up with some rough buff,the secret agent is a hybrid particle with a fine 4000 ab finish.the cell probably has a stronger core so you may need to adjust the cover some.if the ball is burning up then this should improve things. if the cell never gets into a roll(I doubt it) then try just the 500 or 1000 abralon.from what I saw of the cells they all roll very early and hard.
it would also help to know your pap and where the pin and M.B. and or wt.hole on the ball is.

IMO... the cell solid is a heavy oil ball and such will work well in the thick stuff playing a straighter line to the pocket,strong cover+ strong core= early roll and less backend. Storm balls for the most part are known to backend.the complete NV is basicly in the same boat as the cell.
