I live in western PA. It wasn't 100 degrees or anything like that. I am very good about taking my cleaning stuff in with me to work. I was in a hurry and left it in the car.
Never had anything like this happen before in my car. The plastic containers I was using to store alcohol, water, and some polishes are the cheap plastic bottles you find at walmart. I am guessing the car heating up and the clear Plano box (latched tight) caused this to happen. I guess putting it the trunk would have been a better choice.
I had mostly Powerhouse products. Power Wash, Delayed Reaction, Clean and Dull, and Extended Polish.
Do you think if that stuff heats up enough it could melt that cheap plastic? The Plano box is fine. No issues with it other than the mess.

I'm in NJ and it's 90 here today and supposed to get hotter this week.
When you said Plano, I was thinking fishing or tool box. I have a couple and they can be pretty thick. But the clear top lets in light which becomes heat, esp on a warm day.
I've had some of those cheap plastic bottle in my car on warm summer days but they never melted. I'd save that mess for toxic recycling and buy new bottles. When they mix, who knows what you get, but I sure wouldn't touch it, rubber gloves or not.
Live and learn. The mess and the waste of money are just another lesson to be remembered. We've all been there.
