Thumbhole Pitch

I think the pitch of my thumbhole is angled forward too much. The tip of my thumb points more towards my palm instead of at a 90 degree angle or backward, away from my palm. That may be the reason I am constantly getting blisters. Is there anyway to correct that?

LuckyLefty has a very informative post in the drilling section.  Set your preferences back to at least 60 days and you should find a ton of information.  Actually, it's Mumzie's post, but LL provides most of the info.

While there is a certain place to start based on your hand, everyone is different.  Some people will need different forward/reverse/lateral pitch than textbook.  A GOOD proshop will work with you and get it right.  Where do you live?  Maybe someone who lives nearby can recommend a good shop.  I would think most problems are from too much reverse pitch and the hole being too big.  Over gripping or "knuckling" the ball is very common.

rlamanna -- There is also a current thread on the Drilling and Layouts Forum, titled Pitches, that would be good for you to read.  Your recommended thumb pitch is dependent on your span, with shorter spans requiring forward pitch for most people.  Really short conventional spans call for as much as 1/2 inch of forward pitch.  --  JohnP
