Anyone know  of anyone in the pittsburgh pa area who gives bowling leasons?  Looking to get more revs on the ball and have no clue how to.  Need a little help.  Starting to get disgusted with the sport.

whiz, a coach is going to start by telling you how to release the ball.   Plenty of guys on here can tell you how, just ask them.

I'd post a video of you bowling.

a) it'll give you an idea of how you are releasing and you may even have ideas as to how you can increase your rev rate

and

b) there are plenty of people on this site who will be happy to help and who have a coaching background.

Start by calling some pro shops in your area to see if they know who, or if they provide lessons. Ask for possible references as well to inquire about the quality of their lessons.
Ask the manager of where you bowl as well. They may be able to provide you with a name of a good coach as well.

good idea; also, check out http://www.bowl.com/coaching/ On the homepage website toolbar, you will see "Find a...." Hit the drop down for "coach" and go from there.

post a video on forum.bowlingchat.net in the certified coaching section. jim merrell who is a top 100 coach will comment on it. also jow slowinski's site bowling knowledge.info is great if youre interested in the DYDS system. there are plenty of online resources if a coach is not available in person.

Depends how far Akron Ohio is you can go visit  Legendary Gold Coach Fred Borden at his center Stonehedge He lives in Fla in the winters

http://www.stonehedgeakron.com/contact/

Or Columbus OH, Gold Coach  Ron Hatfield  http://rkhcoaching.com/coachron.html

I have worked with both as a student both are the best

Ron is now my Full time coach  When he is in my home town we work on my game and I

go to Columbus 2-3 times a year, it is a 5.5 hr drive for me and worth every penny.

Both are worth the drive. And to get a change to be coached by Fred is something everyone should experience.

I live in the Pittsburgh area and have had lessons from Fred Borden's protégé Geri Edwards at Stonehenge in Akron. I have also had lessons from Mike Shady. In fact,
Mike is going to be conducting a bowling clinic in late July at Nesbit's Lanes in Pittsburgh. You might want to check it out by visiting Mike's website (just Google
"Peak Performance Bowling").  Mike is also available for individual lessons as well.
Both Mike and Geri are excellent instructors. Mike is also a former PBA title holder.

Good luck!
