If your older equipment still fits, why don't you start out with those to regain your timing?  Later, you can talk to experienced bowlers in your center to find out what is working best there or you will figure out what you need to round out your arsenal based on your personal experiences.

There will always be someone around here or there that will be happy to recommend their own personal favorite balls.

Great suggestions so far here. There's a lot of good equipment on the market right now. Once you've had your fit checked, chat with a local PSO about how the local lanes play and how that correlates to your specific game, then grab a new shiny piece.

If your PSO doesn't watch you bowl and get you PAP before recommending equipment and wanting to put holes in something, go elsewhere. Disclaimer - do talk with them though if they are coming off that way as maybe your have a major fit change from your old stuff and it would due everyone best to get the measurements off a properly fitting ball. In that case a middle of the road piece to build out from. If you're interesed in Motiv, you won't find many who will shy you way from getting Venom Shock.

+1 on the Venom Shock if go Motiv route.  Also unlike say 10 to 15 years ago all the major balls companies have good pieces these days and a true dud for everyone is rare.  Welcome back.

Keep it simple.  Most balls on the market are good on the typical house patterns. 

Remember when the ball finds adequate friction it will travel in the direction of it's rotation. If you're not getting movement then play closer to the friction.  Have fun.
