Let the 2023-2024 Staff Changes Begin
« on: October 26, 2023, 04:41:02 PM »
It's the time of year where we start seeing changes to staff members.  So far, a big change is Sam Cooley left 900 Global and joined Motiv.

Of course there will be more as we go forward.

Have been hearing all the guys that were on Motiv National tour staff this season will be back for next year, wouldn't expect a whole lot of change there.

Other companies though, time will tell, seems going into 22 and 23 contracts seemed to be getting signed for longer term, i'd bet there's less movement this offseason than we've seen in the past few.

One big announcement came this morning on New Year's Day.  Ronnie Russell announced on his Facebook page that he has now returned to Motiv.  To quote him, "The remaining time I have left on tour will be with a company that gave me 3 titles and 5 regionals, 15 tv shows.  I made a mistake and I paid for that mistake.  I'm back to finish what I started."

I remember when he was throwing Motiv and it seemed like everything matched up really well for his game.

Why would anyone sign Ronnie Russell, he’s made like one TV show in the last 7 years. He cashed in 3 out of 14 events last year, if he chose to leave he did Radical a favor lol.

Alec Keplinger leaving Storm for Hammer and going out on tour this year is one of the bigger/biggest ones of the new news.

I'll add a different one.

Robert Smith no longer with 900 Global, he's with Hammer/Brunswick and gearing up for the PBA50

I don't think anyone saw that coming.  After all, Maximum Bob turned in his tour card when 900 Global was no longer PBA registered at the time and then rejoined when they were registered again.  That makes me wonder if there was something behind the scenes that happened to cause him to look outside of the Storm brands.

On a different note, Ryan Barnes has signed with 900 Global.  I don't see that as any surprise knowing his dad Chris Barnes is a staffer.

Add Mitch Hupe to 900 Global this year, he had been with Columbia/Brands of Brunswick for quite a while prior.

Weird, JR Pro Shop just released a video of Mitch throwing the Black Widow 3.0.

The video was recorded November 30th, if I remember right, so this would have been one of the last videos he made for BoB.
