In my first trip to Nationals I had missed what would have been my career accomplishment. Had a look, but an open in the 8th of the first game (on a 3-6 spare no less) cost me. If I strike there I go back 9 for 257. Make the spare and I shoot 234.

 

Next 2 games, 279 then 290 for 792.

 

Sure would like to have that spare back. There were only 5 800's shot that year and going through the history mine would have been the 100th all time.

This was my first real run at 800 (and 300):

Game 1: front nine, chopped bucket in the tenth for 262

Game 2: eleven perfect strikes and a stone 8: 279

You'd think game 3 would be pretty locked in, right?  203.  Couldn't make the same shot twice.  It was pathetic.

299, 300, 178 for 777. We bowled in a summer league that switched lanes every game and hit a pair the third game that I left 3 splits on the left lane.  Pretty bad after having 599 for two.

I have a few 800's, but recently at our City Tournament in Albuquerque, NM a few weeks ago I shoot 267-269-258 in Team Event.  I needed the 1st strike in the 3rd game for the 800 and bury it for a 9-pin and a 794 Series.  Not too shabby since I had not bowled for a month prior to the tournament.

275-280-232     787  needed a double in the tenth.   Visionary Warlock playing 18 to 8

 

255-300-241     796  needed a strike in the tenth       AMF Evolution Extra  playing 18 to 8

 

247-245-300     792                                                 AMF BullWhip  playing  5 down and in

 

and still no 800
