That is exactly what Kyle does. Jowdy recommends a long, smooth swing arc, without a hitting up motion. Like landing an airplane on the runway. Watch the video some more and show me where the ball goes up at release. The release is very smooth, almost too soon, right next to his left ankle. Swing plane is pretty good, right under his shoulder.
He bends his elbow from most likely squeezing the ball, and his hand, forearm, elbow are not as relaxed/loose as possible. This could be from a number of reasons, span, pitches, hole size, hole shape, or any of many combinations of them.
Bamaster, comment here please, Kyle's game looks pretty similar to mine, all the way through. My finishing position is a little better, but his release is more compact, smoother, better IMO.
