Looks like one or more of these guys have come up with a new formula for bowling ball resins.


Or at least a new way to sell shit.


Funny, every ball manufacturer seems to be pushing that THEY have a new cover stock. Like they alone came up with this brilliant new idea to "blend" urethane and resin(which is also urethane, just with other additives) and viola, it's just the bestest thing ever.


Yep, mine(Covert Tank) is sitting in the pro shop right now, drilled, as I type this. I will be picking it up in an hour or so. No doubt those poor SOB's tomorrow night will be pouting when I shoot a 1200 series on them(4 game league).  ;D

It's in comparison to other balls in the lineup. Mo has nothing to do with Motiv.

Of course not. I was being facetious. It's incredible how Motiv rates their own balls, as if that were true!

There have been several new cover formulations over the years.   Acrylium, Epoxy, and Ebonites formula on the burgundy hammer remake.  Name escapes me on the latter.   All have been notoriously condition specific.

The more I throw the Covert tank, the more it hooks dowdown lane. This ball reminds me of the shape of 80's urethane in the 80's with Marl Roth throwing it. ;D

"Reacta-thane" on the Burgundy Hammer which they say is just an early rolling reactive at 500 grit, not some new material.

Yes, reactathane.  Agree the 500 grit had a lot to do with reaction.  Most guys who liked the ball at all took the surface up a lot.  Mine was kind of the worst of both worlds for me.  Carried down oil like urethane,  but over undered like resin.   One of those balls that was very condition specific, but when it worked there was nothing else like ii

This does not sound like the Covert Tank btw... It does not carry down oil and will actually make harder left when friction is available. Check out a video that Jeff did a few weeks ago

I absolutely hated that Acryllium composition! It was fantastic for no-tap tourneys, but a zero for regular bowling! I'd have 9 frames of 9/, consistently!

Everything works for someone somewhere.  Agree on Acrylium, but a guy won on Eagle in singles at ABC with one.
