Lifetime Averages
« on: August 17, 2008, 01:38:08 AM »
I went back and listed all of my averages that had 21 games or more from the USBC member lookup page. Sent I only started back into bowling after I retired from the Army, my scores started in the 2000 - 2001 leagues. So my lifetime average is 202.75. Funny thing is I “struggled” last year and ended with a 203!!! So what’s yours?
(Airborne Army 1SG all the way)

They only have them listed back to 2000. From 2000 average is 230.9 for 2103 games in 29 leagues over that time.

That'll take my entire work shift to do---consider it done.

Only took me an hour of work (although I plan on doing more detailed stuff for myself---which will probably take me all night)....

Since 2000-2001, including only games displayed on Bowl.com (including leagues with a low number of games, but not including leagues where I know what I averaged but arent posted) here is what I came up with......

3507 total games
790996 total pins
225.54 average

I did not include 1 league where I bowled left handed and averaged 147---but I did include my 168 for 12 games on a pro shot that is on there :-(

My averages for each year were fairly steady...

Starting in 2000-2001
220.85   I had wrist surgery in December---still ended with 538 games.
225.60   477 games
221.47   569 games this season (most of any season), and then...
223.3    360 games I got married and my father-in-law committed suicide.
223.20   465 games
235.96   483 games 20 honor scores. Season I found out my wife was pregnant.
228.66   318 games
228.49   297 games

Having my daughter has reduced the number of games I bowl a year by about 30-40 percent. That and 2005-2006 made me not appreciate the game anymore. This year, my games will probably be in the 400-600 range again because my divorce is about to be finalized. Hopefully, I bowl like I did 3 season ago....

thats pretty good NOTHUMB, especially with some of the stuff that happened with your life. 20 Honor Scores after you found out your wife was pregnant, were you just alot happier after you found that out and had a better time while bowling.

For me, I just started bowling again 2 1/2 years ago. So in the last 2 years, I'm not exact, but I'd say my average is in the 175-185 range.

When we found out that Samantha was coming, we agreed at that time that I would bowl as much as I could that season---make a run at the best season I could possibly have. I did. Any time anyone needed a sub, I was available. I bowled 483 games---and all of those were during the winter (some of the other seasons include 1 or 2 summer leagues). I made more that my share in side action that season.

Hopefully this year will be a repeat (or anywhere close)...
