Light bulb cores
« on: May 21, 2009, 04:06:06 PM »
I'm looking for a good light bulb core like the old Messengers/Track Magic line. I've seen the Avalanche and the Bash/Clash. Does anyone have suggestions?

I have the Avalanche Pearl. Drilled it very aggressive and it rolls well. I've thrown it on everything and you need it to bump some dry for a good consistent finish. Very powerful hard hitting ball when you are on the right condition. I like to bring it out during the 2nd or third game of league.

The solid may be a good choice for more oil or the new one they are about to release.

I do have a NIB 15lb Track Purple Solution if interested. Same core as the Magic. 15.02 with 2.75 top weight and a 3-3.5" pin.

It's not the same core

Magic - http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=1053
Solution PP - http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=2711

They both are "light bulb" cores, but they are by no means the same core.

The older Clash (royal Blue and Yellow) has a light bulb core as do some of the older ebonite balls like the Crossfire (of which I have two)

I love these balls!

The new Avalanche Pearl (green/black) is an improvement on the original due to the PK18 cover.

I myself like the original bash. Purple and yellow. Drilled mine 4 dry lanes. Ball has a phenomenal amount of hook on dry. Drilled it pin up 2 go long and it snaps hard a the back. Depending on how you throw you may get different reaction. They are discontinued now so you can pick 1 up cheap.

I got it confused, it was used on the stomp pearl and hex.

The avalanche series is tough to beat for the price.
