Vote on which one you would get if you needed a light oil ball.
Power Groove Reactive
Tropical Storm
-
I would get the Track Desert Heat, BUT that's just me.
If you can only pick one, then, i would go Tropical..

I'm not really looking at other balls. Just the Tropical or the Power Groove Reactive.

Anyone else?
-
Definitely the Tropical. Great ball at a great price.

Hook 'em Horns!

Is the Power Groove Reactive symmetric or assymetric?
-
Tropical. These balls are sweet let me tell you. They have a couple new ones out now so there is even more variety available.

You may score higher than me, but you are a better bowler than me.

I love my Tropical, and I hated my PG. Don't get me wrong; the PG is a great ball, with the right drilling and when used on the right conditions. Still, I find my Tropical to be much more versatile. If I go up the back of it, I can play straight up the boards. If I come around the side of it and there's some dry to be found, I can swing it with the best of them. It's a very solid all-around ball at a great price.

I've only bowled 300, but I've benched 345 : )

The Power Groove is an Assymetrical, the Tropical is a Light Assymetrical! The Tropical is NOT a light oil ball, it is a medium to lighter oil ball, it has the same exact cover as the Agent and other high friction Storm ball's (Reactor cover), if you screw-up and drill it strong, it will cover a ton of boards! If you need a True light oil ball and it has to be a Storm product, look into the Big Hit line, the cover's of these ball's won't get you into trouble like the Tropical will!
I would definitely think to be conservative when you are drilling the Tropical. Don't think that you need to power this ball up.

If I needed a light oil ball I wouldn't choose neither. Don't like storm or brunswick. I agree with the Desert Heat.

how could the tropical storm be a big hook ball with a low diff?

Out of the 2 I would say the Tropical. I personally think the Groove is a good medium ball (that was with a 5-5.5 Pip to PAP)! The Groove is much stonger than the Tropical. BTW, I think the Desert Heat is one of the biggest P.O.S.'s I have ever thrown.

Talk to some of the people who have complained that it was too powerful for what they were looking for. I have seen it pop up a few times.

Power Groove Reactive = Medium Oil to Medium/Light.. so not good for Light Oil.
If your looking for something for light oil.. how about a PG Dry/r.. great ball. Same pancake core with the 2 flip caps (I guess thats what you call them), but with a very low reactive cover. Great for when the lanes are weird or when they get light. You can go straight up them and score!!!
Yeah agreed. If you are going to get a Power Groove get the Dry/R.

why not urethane?

I already ordered the Power Groove Reactive Blue/Ivory. What if I put on a lot of polish and had it drilled 4L (look at the drilling sheet). I have low revs so I think it might work. Hopefully.

tropical
-
tropical goes longer and straighter. powergroove is sneaky strong. its more of a medium-dry ball. my tropical barely outhooks my target zone.
-
Of the two, Tropical, 'nuff said.

Now I'm starting to regret getting the Power Groove... I hope I can make it work. Any reassurance would be nice lol.
-
I guess I didn't understand, you wanted to know which of the two would do best ? but you already bought one of them ? I guess I'd have to ask, then why ask ? You already decided, as I said, I don't understand why the question, I guess.

And your reply just now was so hard to understand. I started the topic and then ordered the Power Groove. But now I wish I would have gotten the Tropical. Is there anyway this Power Groove could go under my Zone Classic?
-
anyone mention supersport??
