Strike Pass
« on: December 09, 2004, 12:52:39 AM »
Ok, the ONLY reason why I'm even thinking about getting this service is to see the tournaments that I miss, because ESPN isn't going to re-air them anymore...go figure. Anyway, how is the quality and can you (if it's not illegal or anything...) save it to a CD-RW or DVD? I mean, if you're paying for the service, it's no difference (IMO) than if you were recording from the cable you payed for. Just wondering. Thanks.

Shoutout33 -- I can't answer your question, but why don't you just tape the show?  If you don't have a VCR, you can buy one for next to nothing now - probably for less than the Strike Pass service would cost.  --  JohnP

John, thanks for the reply. Sorry for not mentioning it beforehand, but I already have a vcr. I was trying to find another way to see the tourneys if I missed it.

Shoutout33 -- Are you afraid of forgetting to tape the show?  If so, my VCR has a feature that allows routine taping of a particular channel and time slot every day, once per week, etc.  Don't know if all VCR's have that feature, but check to see if yours does.  The show is normally on in about the same time slot every week, all you'll have to do is be sure it's set up right and has a blank tape in it.  By the way, the show goes a lot faster when you don't have to watch all the commercials.  --  JohnP

Strike Pass when it first came out > Strike pass today.

It's true. You pay the same price for minimal coverage. I used to have all the inside scoop from the match play rounds, but now I don't.

If live match play comes back to StrikePass, I will be subscribing again.
