Line Up CHeck
« on: October 01, 2009, 04:07:56 AM »
Ok I have a few questions regarding my lineup. 1st in your opinion would you consider this a complete line up or should i invest in a ball for more oil or less oil? 2nd thats my line up as is when i throw meaning the middle ball (thunderstruck is my benchmark) and the others goin up is more oil, and down less oil? Would you consider is a good choice or should i rearrange it?

Total Inferno (with resurrection)
Nomad Pearl   (Box Finish)
Thunderstruck (1000 Abralon)
Onyx Vibe     (4000 Abralon No Polish)
Ogre Urethane (1500 polished)
--------------------
Approach the game with no preset agendas and you''ll probably come away surprised at your overall efforts.

I would think the Onyx Vibe would go above the Nomad Pearl, ESPECIALLY with the polish removed!! If the Onyx Vibe had the polish, it would probably be even with the Nomad on medium oil, with each giving a different look to the ball path.

Total Inferno (with resurrection)
Onyx Vibe (4000 Abralon No Polish)
Nomad Pearl (Box Finish)
Thunderstruck (1000 Abralon)
Ogre Urethane (1500 polished)

Is That Thubderstruck the Solid? and is that 1000 Abralon WITH NO POLISH??
If so, then I'd change the line up again.

Total Inferno (with resurrection)
Thunderstruck (1000 Abralon)
Onyx Vibe (4000 Abralon No Polish)
Nomad Pearl (Box Finish)
Ogre Urethane (1500 polished)

Yes that is the solid At 1000 abralon with no polish. Interesting i never thought to consider the vibe stronger than the nomad simply because of the angle the nomad creates...thank you!! Also The total inferno can be considered an oil ball right?

Yes, the Nomad Pearl will cover a lot more boards than a dull Onyx Vibe, but it won't handle more oil, when polished.

Unfortunately these days of resin and resin-based particle balls are very different from urethane balls, where the more a ball hooked, the more oil it handled. Today a mild ball, like the Freeze, can hook a lot more than an oiler, like the Bounty Hunter, on lighter oil lanes. Some resin pearls can cover all 39/40 boards and more when thrown by the right person on the right oil pattern.
