little help with my arsenal please!
« on: March 23, 2011, 03:29:13 AM »
Im looking for a little help to fill in my arsenal. I was a Storm guy but I am now looking to other companies. Here is what is in my arsenal now:

Invasion-pin right of ring cg kicked out to the right-no hole

Domination-pin right of ring cg kicked out out  to the right-small hole

Virtual energy-pin right of ring cg kicked out out  to the right-small hole(although I think this ball just died on me)

718a Pin above ring/middle finger-cg kicked out about 1" right- no hole

WD-plastic

I obviously have a huge gap that needs to be filled. I would like to narrow it down to 4 balls. I really need gear for lighter/burnt conditions. Im also looking for something a little less angular that is a bit more rolly.

I am right handed. Ball speed is 16mph. rev rate about 300-350. Throw 15lbs.

Any help is greatly appreciated! open to any suggestions....i have this question up in the track area as well but always looking for input.

from the looks of it, my next ball might be a pink panther or a gemstone. going to give lane 1 a try. which one would be best?

The Pink is going to overlap the stuff you already have.  You need something weak and the Pink is anything but.  Gemstone is a better choice based on what I've read, but I haven't seen one thrown. Motiv Silver Recon would also be a good choice.

Motiv offers a ball for light oil called the Recon RX1 Silver. Very nice ball for burnt or light oil conditions. Also you can consider the QZ2. Very smooth controllable ball for medium oil.

i appreciate the feedback.

I really was considering the darkstar with a pin under drill. but many said this ball would overlap as well and it was underated.

I liked the idea of the pink since it seems to be a real rolly type of ball. None of my other balls give me this type of look. Im trying to get away from the really angular stuff and trying to find a real predictable type of ball.

recon looks good but i have heard to many hit and miss stories wih this ball. i wish i knew someone that had one to try...

From what I know about the balls, the Invasion and Domination should both be rollier.  I don't know your PAP, but I'm guessing the drillings you have on the ball are also rolly drillings.  If you want one of them to be rollier, try knocking the polish off of it (assuming they are polished).

You don't need another strong ball.  Drill up a weak ball for under the 718a, or a medium ball with a weak drilling.

If the Silver Recon doesn't suit your fancy, look at a Brunswick Slingshot or something from the Avalanche line.  MoRich has the Perpetual Motion.  Hammer has the Vibe series. Columbia has the Freeze.  ANY of these balls would fit what you need, and you don't have to spend $200-$250 to get them.
