looking for tips on how to get a little more loft on my ball. i throw 14# balls because i was out of bowling for 2 years because i had 4 rotator cuff surgeries ( bone spurs and torn tendens from the spurs ). because i had this problem for the last 3-4 years i got into a bad habit of short-arming my release because if i tried to reach out, the spurs would cut into the tendons. i'm averaging 210 in our scratch summer league ( 2 person ), but feel i could do much better if i could get it out there to get a little more lift and drive on the ball. i need to trust my release but still a little scared because of my previous condition. any help would be greatly appreciated, to me summer leagues are to get your game ready for the fall so now's the time to try things.

Back when I coached high school bowling we would put a towel just past the foul line for about 4 inches. This would make you get the ball out. If you hit the towel it will carry it a few feet down the lane but it should not go with the ball so it is a great practice technique.
